Dr. Adam Wuollet joined the Arizona Pain Specialists Gilbert, Arizona office in 2013, but his relationship with the practice began when he was mentored in his medical training at the Mayo Clinic by Arizona Pain’s co-founders, Drs. Tory McJunkin and Paul Lynch. This relationship with the practice has led Dr. Wuollet to focus his work on caring for the most complicated of chronic pain cases.
Dr. Adam Wuollet: Education, research, and experience
Dr. Adam Wuollet is a board-certified pain doctor in anesthesiology and is fellowship-trained in interventional pain management, completing much of his education right here in Arizona. Dr. Wuollet started with his bachelor’s in physiological sciences at the University of Arizona where he graduated magna cum laude with honors in physiological sciences. At the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Dr. Wuollet was given the Excellence of Service to the University of Arizona College of Medicine before moving on to his internship in internal medicine at St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix.
An interdisciplinary pain fellowship at the University of California – Irvine expanded Dr. Wuollet’s repertoire of pain treatments to include complementary medicine in addition to the most cutting-edge and innovative treatments. This pain doctor’s focus on anesthesiology before completing his fellowship in interventional pain medicine has made him particularly sensitive to the needs of the most complex chronic pain cases, and during his time at university, patients were referred to him from across the state.
As a thought-leader and researcher, Dr. Wuollet has also focused his attention on advancing therapies for hard-to-treat pain conditions, publishing multiple papers and presenting at conferences of his peers across the U.S. Dr. Wuollet’s lectures on treatment options such as short- and long-acting opioids, cranial nerve blocks, and transforaminal epidural steroid injections and selective nerve root injections have been well-received in his field.
Dr. Wuollet is a current board member of the Humanitarian Aid Committee and also holds the elected position of chairman of the ASA Resident Component for Arizona. His commitment to equal access to treatment across the socioeconomic spectrum earned him the Commitment to Underserved People Program Leadership Award in 2008, and he brings that commitment to equality into his work as a pain doctor with Arizona Pain Specialists today.

Dr. Adam Wuollet is a native son of Arizona who was born in Scottsdale and is happy to be back in the Valley. Dr. Wuollet is an active volunteer both in the U.S. and abroad. This pain doctor traveled to Ecuador to not only offer his services but to also study Spanish, Latin culture, and indigenous medicine to broaden his knowledge base. Dr. Adam Wuollet enjoys living in Gilbert, Arizona for the ample outdoor recreation opportunities it provides. He also enjoys traveling and spending quality time with his family.
