Patient education at the Chronic Pain Expo
As discussed in the following video about the Expo, patient education is at the core of what Arizona Pain does.
Education is crucial for patients on the road to recovery, so Arizona Pain has organized a number of different Phoenix valley health professionals to discuss various topics that relate to chronic pain. Part of our obligation at Pain Doctor is to support patient education and awareness. That’s what drives our Conditions and Treatments pages, as well as the posts on this Inside Pain blog.
Arizona Pain’s Chronic Pain Expo extends this service by offering patients and their families the opportunity to learn more about the vast resources available to help them win the fight against their chronic pain.
Pain topics that will be covered at the Chronic Pain Expo include:
- Diet and exercise
- Physical therapy options
- Holistic and alternative therapies
- Local support groups
- Mental health
- Interventional procedures
- Cutting-edge studies
- Caregiver resources
You can learn more about these topics by attending the Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 27th at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in their Grand Sonoran Salon, rooms A-D.
Arizona Pain asks all participants to RSVP beforehand. RSVPing ahead of time allows them to ensure that they have enough materials the day of. You can do so by clicking here.
The impact of chronic pain
The events coordinator at Arizona Pain, Kristen Lavoie, notes that:
“We understand that chronic pain can be overwhelming. We want those who suffer from chronic pain in the Phoenix area to know that they are not alone–and that there are many services in the area to help them.”
We know that chronic pain affects too many. Over 100 million people in the U.S. alone suffer from the symptoms of chronic pain.
Pain Awareness Month during the month of September aims to change this.
Through efforts during Pain Awareness Month, we can change the way we think and talk about pain. It’s about greater patient education, better public awareness, and more resources for pain patients. Part of that happens through community events like Arizona Pain’s Chronic Pain Expo. Will you be there?
